Hey guys I have a 1997 civic si coupe, recently it has been giving me problems randomly. It will run fine then I will pull up to a light and the idle will bog to about 500rpm, the car will rev itself up and my apexi vafc is showing a small voltage drop. I was thinking alt but it only does it randomly, then when I was driving to work this morning you could see the voltage drop, then rise above normal, then drop and etc. I'm keeping track of the voltage drops on my safc and don't know where to start, I'm thinking voltage regulator in my alt? If anyone else has had an issue like this lmk. I the voltage is dropping with no big load btw.

 

A VAFC and a SAFC? Fail.

Get the alternator tested.

 

If the voltage only fluctuates at idle, also clean the IACV and FITV and replace the PCV valve.

 

Bought it off a ricer with both installed, I was origianlly doing to use the safc for my ka-t 240sx but ended up buying a nistune system. I had a new sympton I was driving today around 2000rpm and started to slow down and it seemed like it wanted to stall. Sputtering and jerking around gassed and it sputtered then drove fine the rest of the way home its a high km motor. 340xxxkm but compression is great doesn't seem to even burn oil
