The clock no longer lights up at night. Simple fuse fix?

Most likely the bulb, see them all the time.

 

I was assuming he already checked the bulb. That would be the obvious first step

 

If it was the fuse he would have alot of other problems with circuits on the same fuse.

Well, it's my g/f's car and I didn't have time to check anything last weekend. Is the clock hard to take out? I'll just get a flathead and work on it.

 

It's the light behind the clock. Very common. The whole dash bezel around the instrument cluster and clock comes out as one piece. The bulb is only a few bucks. Don't try to pry the clock out of the dash, it's bolted in from behind. Good luck.

 

Where exactly do I start to take off stuff? I don't want to take off more than needed.

Oh, and you might want to put a thin piece of tape on the end of the skinniest flathead you can find. Keeps it from scratching anything.

 

It was done as a joke because he about 900 posts in the last 7 days.

 

So where should I start tearing the dash apart?

 

What year and model?

 

The clock pops right out, you can just use that screwdriver to pop it out and you'll be able to remove the bulb.

i replace clocklights all the time, in cars new and old. Some cars take a minute, other cars take longer. The clocklight looks like a LED.

 

Does anyone know the bulb #?
