How can I identify EX knuckles from other knuckles?..... And what tools and sockets would I need to take some off a vehicle

easiest way to tell is that the calipers will have mounting brackets. as for actual stamping numbers here is what you look for:

Would you recommend getting the calipers aswell for a brake upgrade or just hold off and get itr brakes since that's what I'm planning to do, you know the size of the sockets I need to take the knuckles off

So I think ive come to the conclusion that i have overseas ef knuckles, went to the junkyard and DA knuckles were stamped with a K, anybody know the part number for overseas ef calipers?... Would it be worth getting the EX knuckles instead for 70 bucks?...

ex knuckles will have a better suspension geometry. da's will fit too, but it is said if you can get a hold of ex's, get them instead.

The knuckles on my eg ex are stamped 5BL and 5C3. In case anyone ever comes across knuckles stamped the same. Don’t worry there the same as those in this thread. Today I found some 23T caliper brackets off a accord with a v6 2001 I think. I compared the brackets to those off 2001 and 2004 Acura TL’s they were the same but the rotors from Acura TL to v6 accord were bigger and thinker than the accords. So they were probably the 28T bracket versions.

That's cute, wrong EX.

This is the EF forum, not Eg.

Thanks for replying ... It's really helped.

No, because they don't fit right in EF.

Lol

Look, perhaps you just don't know what this thread is about.

90-91 EX Sedans had larger brakes, same as DA front brakes. They fit perfectly on EF, because it is an EF. DA knuckles mostly fit, but there positive camber and sharp dynamic camber and toe change issues. Acceptable, but not ideal like EX knuckles. Unfortunately EX sedan knuckles are rare, because of lower sales and most have been junked.

EG and EK knuckles have never been recommended because they completely mess up suspension geometry. More than DA. Nothing positive, certainly not just for bigger brakes, there's other options for that.

So GTFO with your EG knuckles. Lol.

Though it’s implied in the thread above and can be found easily via a quick search, just for clarification, 90-91 Civic EX knuckles are stamped LH3-A (driver left) and RH3-A (passenger right).
