Don't do that....once you go to a full synthetic, you are supposed to keep using a full synthetic, nothing else! Just try a different Viscosity Mobil1.
that is the nature of Mobil 1. Try and get 5w40 and check your levels often.
or go with Redline 5w30 (much better oil) if you can.
or go back to something like Castrol GTX 5w30 dino.
or go another route

First off, don't get on it anymore.
Secondly, I'd bet you have one or more bad valve stem seals. I think if you had bad rings you would get constant smoke from your exhaust (can anyone confirm this?). Do you get smoke on a cold start (sitting overnight)? That is another reliable indicator of bad valve stem seals.
Take it to Acura, you're probably still warrantied.

It more an likely is going to be your rings. My car is like that if I get on it and I have 2 piston rings that are gone. Do a compression check and a leak down check to be for certain. A quick way to figure it out if you don't have access to a compression tester is this. When does the car smoke, 1-when you floor it or 2-when you let off of the gas? If it smokes when you hit the gas it will more an likely be your piston rings. If it smokes when you let off of the gas pedal it will be your valve guide seals.

Since it's a 2001, bring it back to the dealership and tell them about your oil burning problem. Your car should be still under warranty, so they should fix it if they find something wrong. Also, do not tell them you are running synthetic oil, just tell them it's regular conventional oil. Some dealers will use all sorts of gimmicks/tricks to deny warranty.
Good advice.
I was curious to know though, but why would a ring or valve stem seal go out on a new car already?
Any ideas...[Modified by John-GSR, 5:57 AM 10/10/2002]

Someone cold have been beating the hell out of the car if it got it used.
A compresson test did not help me. It will only tell you if you have severe piston damage. I had two pistons with shattered rings and the compression was normal. Grab a helms and take it apart. See it for yourself.
Hondas tend to burn a little oil when you use synthetic. Especially when you switch over to synthetic. Mobil 1 synthetic is good oil for your car, its just gonna burn a bit. I noticed my GSR was burning about 0.5-0.75 quart between changes, o I started monitoring it, regulating it. Your gonna deal with this using syn oil in a hond. Ive seen this with alot of hondas. As far as the smoke is concerned, you may have bigger problems.

My GS-R with 80000km loved to 'use' Mobil 5w30, about 1 litre every 2000kms. No blue smoke, no leaks... just consumed it. I switched to Mobil 10W30 and still some usage. Now have gone to Castrol Syntec 10w30 and no usage of oil... 5000km oil change and 4 litres come out. Try using another brand of oil.
