Sooooo... I pulled the valve cover on my new GSR swap......
I have had this swap for almost a year now. The motor has not been ran much but has been started once in awhile. I got the motor new with only 900 miles on it. I am getting ready to start getting the car together. I was messing around to day in the garage and pulled the valve cover. I found a white sludge all thru the head. Please tell me this is just moister!!!!!!!!!!!!

drain the oil check if there is anything brown in the coolant and do a compression test best way to tell sure looks like blown headgasket
Thats what i was afraid of
Oil still is clean. But i think from sitting so long the head gasket got messed up. I had an oil leak from the gasket. then once I started the car and let it run a few times it went away

Yeah i am seeing that now. I really cant drive the car because it is winter here in Pittsburgh and the salt is everywhere on the roads right now. I just pressure tested the coolant and is holding fine. Think its just moister build up.

yeah the car is kinda a sad story it sat outside for 9 month thru the winter after the gsr. I recently just purchased a garage from the city to keep and build the car in. I will be getting it wired for electric soon so i will have heat in it. SO my civic will be nice and warm in the winters
Wow that is some nasty stuff. I had some white sludge forming around the PCV valve on my saturn due to a bad valve cover gasket, but nothing like that!

Your aluminum head isn't going to rust. Neither are the cams that are covered in oil. Just start the car every now and then. Change that oil out.
