Back in a CRX - a hillclimb project!
And I can't be more pleased!!
So I love motorsports.. mainly the ones I can complete it... lemons, hillclimbs, rally, autox, rallyx, karts, etc... I'm currently building a 95 VW Golf Rally car with a TDI swap and some hotbits rally suspension... but the thought of damaging it on a hillclimb made my tummy churn with all the work I'm putting into it I want to destroy it on the stages no where else!! So what to do... someone gave me a free vw scirocco but it just didn't inspire me .. one over heat and some other issues and I was done with it.. yes it would have taken a few hours to fix... but why? i'd rather pick my nose.
So I asked around.. and found this!!
pics aren't working for me right now (first time on HT in like 5 years please excuse)
but its a 90 body shell, rust free, not really strait but strait enough, rear discs, and an LS swap... all for 600!
She runs and drives... the last owner used her as an ashtray but thats fine with me as the entire interior is coming out.. single lightweight race seat, some bracing, dark green armyish paint and some good suspension and she'll be ready to bounce off some trees and dodge them cones... I havn't been this excited about a car in years!!

So what do people run for competition (autox, hillclimb, road-course stuff) these days... it used to be a set of adjustable Koni's and some 400 frt 500 rear springs on sleeves... ?

I went Koni sports with 500F/650R rates. Stock front sway bar and an ASR in the rear. The turn in is great and so is the rear rotation.

Oh yeah... there is going to be a TON of soldiering and cleaning and re-doing and and and... goal is something clean, easy to work on and reliable...
