Default Soon to be buying new motor... Leak down test better? Or compression test?

So I'm kind of torn here, I plan on buying a d16a6 motor soon from a local guy. In order to find out if the motor is still good, would it be better to do a compression test? or a leak down test? motor is out of the car. A compression test would be easier, but which would show me what i need to know? ex. low compression in cylinder and such.

thanks in advanced,

Lee

better off doing a leak down test. because some leaks are fairly easy to repair depending on what it is thats leaking. if you do a compression test you will only see how much it is leaking and how fast. Stick to the leak down test.
