Soon to be buying new motor... Leak down test better? Or compression test?
So I'm kind of torn here, I plan on buying a d16a6 motor soon from a local guy. In order to find out if the motor is still good, would it be better to do a compression test? or a leak down test? motor is out of the car. A compression test would be easier, but which would show me what i need to know? ex. low compression in cylinder and such.
thanks in advanced,

better off doing a leak down test. because some leaks are fairly easy to repair depending on what it is thats leaking. if you do a compression test you will only see how much it is leaking and how fast. Stick to the leak down test.
Do the local auto stores rent leak down testers? If not where can i get one for a decent price?
