ITR LSD INTO LS TRANNY HELP???
okay i just got a s80 lsd itr tranny for next to nothing.
2nd and 5th/reverse gears are gone. i bought it for the lsd.
my question is: Is the factory itr lsd a direct drop into the ls tranny..
if not what has to be done. also what do i have to do to make the 4.7 fd work with the ls tranny. i know hardly anything about trannys so any help is appreciated
thanks

okay are the s80 ls countershafts the same as the countershaft in a jdm itr trans... basically will everything from my ls countershaft swap over to the itr countershaft?
No, all hydro cases are the same. YS1 cable trannys you have to grind down the ribs when using an LSD.
Just working from memory here, but you will also have to put the 1st gear from the ITR C-shaft in as well. I remember it being a different internal size on the JDM ITR C-shaft. If this is not a JDM ITR trans, and it is just a standard 4.4 C-shaft, and you will not have to worry about that.
Nothing to do w/ original post but I'll chime in on this and say mixing a '97 spec LSD and YS1 require no mods, I know for a fact b/c I've done it. But I have read that before...maybe the '98 and higher LSD/ring gear is what requires the need for clearancing?
