Okay so my sunroof decided it only wants to close fully on one side the other is still up, i tried pushing it down and reopening and closing it again but no luck. Any advice or suggestions before i try to fix it?

 

or does anyone know where i could just get a new 88 dx roof skin? might just do away with the sunroof

 

check the guides on the tracks, it probably has a broken black plastic end cap and came off the rail. also the white plastic bit breaks off typically and causes uneven sagging.

you just have to take the black plastic end cap off with a small 8mm wrench and put it back together. and make sure you dont open the sunroof fully open again, or just dont ever use it.

its not worth reskinning.

 

I mean I have 2 sunroof assembly's if you need one.

okay im not sure what the black end cap is but it looks like everything is all in the tracks

 

Okay so I took the end caps off and neither were broken, when I tried to shut the sunroof without the panel on still only one of the black rails would go down the other still stuck up as it had with the sunroof on, any suggestions?

 

Would you need the Panel?

 

no im probably just putting a skin off an hf tomorrow, the sunroof just isnt worth the effort to me.

 

Sounds to me like you are about to re-skin about 500 bucks off your resale value of your car, in exchange for a little basic troubleshooting. I don't have an Si, so I can't offer you any advice, but I bet that the guys here could, given proper info. Maybe some pics or even a video would give them the info they need.

I just would never delete a huge selling point, like a sunroof, from a car unless it was for performance (weight) reasons. ......Just my opinion, its your car though.

 

it has lots of up sides and im not going to find myself in a situation where i would have to sell my crx, i also dont personaly like sunroofs and i already did it so to late lol oh and tyson it was a small white clip that the screw had come lose thats why the side wouldnt close. but thank you guys for your help

 

I cant believe you changed your roof skin.....seriously
