Default Crome 1.6.2 Expired

I have been getting a rash of phone calls and emails about Crome Version 1.6.2 has expired. Apparently, John has built in the expiration date into this version again...for whatever reason.

I do know that version 1.5.5 still works...if you dont have an old copy of it, i have put it on my website for the time being at the following links:

http://www.xenocron.com/downloads/crome1.5.3.zip
http://www.xenocron.com/downloads/crome.beta.1.5.5.zip

You need to install 1.5.3, and then replace the executable from the 1.5.5 zip.

make sure you BACKUP and make a copy of your "register.txt" file from within the Crome Folder before installing any new or old versions.

Hopefully this helps people in any jams while I continue to try and get in touch with John...as apparently he is in the Philippines on his vacation and wont be back until March 1st

If you have your heart set on using 1.6.2 you can set your system clock back 1 year. But its going to be an annoyance if you use the laptop for other than tuning.

Thanks for the help. I was going crazy trying to locate an update from 1.6.2 lol. Luckily, I still had a copy of 1.5 that still worked

OK now for some reason I cannot load my Moates ECU test .bin file nor can I datalog anymore. Did anything change with this new version? Or was it just a license update?

Edit.... I'm a F#@k'n noobiot. Forgot to register after the new version was installed. After entering my regstring I am now able to datalog. Moates test .bin file still won't open though.....still working on that one.

I've had troubles loading the Engine Sim test.bin with Crome before as well. Now I just open it with Flash'nBurn and program the chip that way as needed :/

That's kind of what I just ended up doing. I saved the buffer to file and then loaded it onto my ostrich. Guess you have to do Whatever it takes to get it to work.

1.6.2 has expired. If you try to open up Crome, it will prompt you "This version of Crome has expired, please update" (or something along those lines), and then will automatically close. You will need to download the update for 1.6.3 to use Crome, or download the older version 1.5(sucks).

I doubt there was any upgrade, probably same as 1.6.2 with a new expiry date...but I could be wrong

The demon with 1.6.3 only works randomly on some computers, there's really no rhyme or reason. I've tried countless computers with all sorts of custom settings, it's really just hit or miss. I wouldn't suggest using a demon with Crome.
