89 DX HEAD GASKET QUESTION
Got a 89 DX Hatch with 243K on it, but it runs like new and does not burn a drop of oil. The only issue is a bad seep from the passenger front corner of what appears to be the head gasket. I am only leaking oil and no coolant, how long does it take to change a head gasket on one of these. It appears to be pretty easy, however I have not done much engine work on one. I have swapped a B and an H into an EG and EK but never torn the engines down. Any suggestion on what I should pay a shop to do it? This thing is just my daily beater so I don't want to dump a lot into it. I have $950 in it total right now with all new exhaust, test pipe, and a new set of tires.
Ya i dont see you haveing a problem with a SOHC head gasket man. drain the coolant, Take everything off the intake mani holding it to the car (wire harness, hoses etc.), take valve cover off, slip timing belt off (make sure its in time first), take out the head bolts pull the head, remove old gasket, clean the surfaces. then reverse to put it together.
May try to do it this summer when I can get my bike back out and don't need to drive this. It's nice to have 4 vehicles, I always have something free to drive. I need to check the valve adjustments anyways because I am bet they have never been adjusted. This poor car runs like new but has just been neglected.

Not a girl....I made this name back like 7 years ago when I had my other EF I also had a Toyota MR-S or MR2 Spyder. I noticed when I signed back in yesterday it looks like Mrs. EF. Kind of misleading.
Def a guy and I have had quite a few Honda's. A 98' Civic EX, 95' Accord LX, 90' Si Hatch, and this 89' EF. Right now I currently have a 05' Titan CC lifted 10", a 09' MINI Cooper, the EF, a 08' Triumph Sprint ST and a Military M101A1 Trailer.
