Icon2 Fender Bulge?

Saw this EK civic on speedhunters website and thought the fender bulge was genius.

Can anyone chime in on how this was possibly achieved?

Thanks in advance!

not difficult, be prepared for big gaps in the hood fitment though. can bend the fender mounts and slot the holes, or longer bolts w/spacers such as washers

All you have to do is put some spacers or stack washers up where the fender mounts under the door. You might have to trim the side skirt a little to allow the fender to push outward, but it shouldn't be hard at all.

Thanks unusual71, WhiteSlipsWithStickers for the insight. Might give this a try and see how it turns out. I am worried about the hood not being flush but we'll see how bad it really turns out.

Oh and egezzy.... wrong bulge lol.

that's funny, i had some left over hood spacers, and one day while sitting in the garage i stuck them in my fenders to space them out. definitely helped my rub issue.

I like this idea as well, people keep saying washers, but I am still not seeing how that would work. If you look where the fender bolts to the car in the engine bay, putting in washers would only raise the fender up, how do you get it to push out?

I would assume you notch the fender where the bolt goes through so that you can slide it to where you want it?

I think they put washers near the door on both top and bottom, between fender and frame. Looks like the top furthest back fender bolt hole has been modified.

you can loosen the bolts and pull the fender out, it'll make a larger gap between the fender and hood

You just need a longer bolt and spacer at the bottom point right in front of the door jams.

I know a few BMW guys who do that to allow for more air flow... looks pretty sick IMO and supposedly is functional.

the purpose is to get the turbulent air in the fender well out.

Evo guys do it to get a wider tire under the stock fender. For an FF Honda, it's pretty useless unless you plan on running larger than a 225. I can run a 225 under the stock fender with no rubbing with the proper offset wheel, so if it's just the look you are going after then it's kinda weaksauce if you ask me since the fitment looks kinda ghetto around the headlight.

They use a metal or carbon brackets with two holes for bolts to connect to span the original locations. The fitment around the headlight will be a bit off.

Yah no offense but when your wheels are narrow sunken battleship status on the stock fender, it really serves no purpose to push the fender out more. It's like rolling your fenders to fit a 15x7....
