Default Well ive decided to go with a jrsc

Before you guys all tell me to turbo instead, my reasons are as follows: 1) Less maintenance 2) want to be able to do things to my car while im saving for it ie. headers, exhaust. 3) i dont drag race so i dont need the power of a turbo. and a few other reasons. I was wondering if you guys can tell me what i can and cant do to my car such as headers and exhaust that will improve power, before i get it, i would like to know this incase i end up not getting it for somereason. I am saving for my suspension right now and i am buying an exhaust. Thx

That's an internet myth. Maintenance is no more, no less. Forced induction is forced induction...boost is boost. Your motor will undergo the same strain as it would if it were turbocharged. Everything you have to do with a turbocharger, you have to do with a supercharger. But, contrary to common knowledge, it really isn't all that much anyway.

Cool thz for pointing that out i had a preconceived notion that turbo was a lot more maintenance. Im still learning and hopefully by the time I have the money for this I will have learned everything i need to know.

Seems like one of the reasons people are afraid of turbo installation is tapping the block for oil. The fact that the superchargers are internally and perminantly lubricated attracted me at first too. After one finds out how easy it is to get oil to and from a turbo, turbocharging becomes more attractive, err at least it did for me. I still do understand the attraction of the "factory like installation" and emmisions legality. The instant-on power is nice to have too.

Yeah but you still have the belts to replace & oil changes & spark plugs too, just like the Turbo people. I just got my turbo installed this past weekend and I give the car a once over every night. I check for leaks, hoses, vac lines etc.

Don't be scared, just get some buddies to help out and you always have Honda-Tech!!

aside from the VERY 1st trip around the block, the feel of the jrsc didn't do anything for me. maybe the power was too linear to give you that whole 'push you into the seat' feeling...

then again, no, look at the jrsc dynos...the power (ahem, torque) just isin't there.

I liked my JRSC. It was fun. But I still think the turbo setup can be far better.

Yea, clearing up the misconcenption that turbo is more maintenance of a supercharger... I was thinking of a JRSC for a LOOONG time... but realized in the end I was getting WAY more for my money going turbo, more power, more options etc...

I decided not to spend $3000 to make my car 160whp at best with my automatic..
I went turbo and am getting 189whp to the ground and thats only the beginning only at 8psi.

For those who are looking into JRSC. Look at buying a used kit which hasn't run "Stupid" boost. Buy the updated pulleys and belts from Jackson ( About $70). I have installed and un-installed tons of blowers and never seen problems unless they have been over boosted.
Get a Kamakzi header from Endyn, ( 2.5") a good Exhaust( Your choice 2.5") a good cold air intake. Then a good tuneable ecu, ( Zdyne,Hondata, AEM) and you will have a good set up. On B16a motors I have made 230WHP , B18C motors 250WHP with this set up.
You will have to do the regular services but superchargers are reliable and do make power. Just most people can't figure them out.
