Found a local guy trying to sell his YS! lsd trans, I offered him $400 and he said he'd take it, I'm just wondering is there anything I can check for to make sure its in good shapeor not. Any tricks to see if its worth buying?

 

You can take a screw driver and shift it through all the gears, make sure to spin the input shaft in each gear and watch the diff to make sure each gear works.

 

Bring a spare car with the transmission removed.
Install the transmission in question.
Test drive the vehicle.
