Its Solracer Question Day!! ITR lower Rear control arms..
I keep hearing that some people like to switch to the ITR Rear LCA's. My Questions is why the itr's is becuast it is off of a type r? I have some lca's with sway bar mounts on them and will make another attempt this offseason to put the other one on. IS there and advanteg to the type r lca's? I know they are differnt but why? Is the sway bar mounting point differnt/further out and so on...
Thanks

Lighter, stronger and they reduce negative camber a bit. All good IMO. Only bad is they require different rear shocks.
Edit: If you autox, make sure they are legal for the class. SP I don't think so, but STS/STX = yes.

Are they shorter? IS that why the reduce negative camber? No too worried about auto-x as it is, all though I have been woundering if the del sol is STX legal...

DelSol is not STX legal, nor is it STS legal.
Yes, ITR LCAs are a bit shorter than the normal LCAs, which is why the camber is reduced.

I have ITR rear LCAs in my GS-R. Most GS-R owners I know who lowered their cars to about the same height as my car (lowered about 1.75") have at least 2 degrees of negative camber, but I only have 1.5 negative camber. I don't have any other camber kit, so my cambers are what they would be from lowering.
I also checked the Helm manual on the Integra. As you may know, the ITR came 1/2" lower from the factory. So before looking at the Helm manual, you would think that the ITR would have more negative cambers than the GS-R. However, the Helm manual says that the ITR has more negative FRONT camber, but same REAR camber as the GS-R. So the ITR rear LCAs are definitely shorter. I measured them, and the ITR rear LCAs are about 1/8" (+/- 1/16") shorter than the GS-R rear LCAs. They were measured from the inside mounting hole to the outside mounting hole, not the overall length of the arms.

David, a lot of people do this switch to accomodate some of the fancier shocks that mount up to the ITR LCAs only (the mounting mechanism is different).
Not sure why you'd want less rear negative camber though. I added about 3/4 of a degree using adjustable upper arms.

Was not planing on making the change, I was just woundering why every one seems to switch to them.
