Default Noob Trying to save a lil money Will this work ? main bearings

Hey guys Looking for your opinion on this my B18c1 with stock internals spect out for all black bearings Going buy micing the crank and the oem stamping on block and crank But any way what do you think about me buying one top and botom black main braring Specing it with plastiguage on all of them to make shre i dont have to adjust slightley.
Just wondering if it would be Not smart for me to swap the main bearing that much. thanks guys

if you're trying to save money just buy a set of aftermarket bearings and plastigauge them, then replace the ones that are out of spec.

more than likely you won't have to replace them unless your crank's been worked on before or you have a ton of miles on the motor

OEM bearings are like (20 bucks per pair x 4) + replacements if needed vs like ACL's which are what like 80-100 bucks these days, and that's with rod bearings as well

mic the crank and block, if the id's and od's are within 0.0003"
get yourself a set of acl race regular sized bearings, you'll end up with a slightly larger clearance (acl=greens) but that's what i'd recommend, you probably end up near 0.0017-0.002 " wich is perfect for a mild-wild street/strip build
