Car sat for 6 months - now having problems
First off this is on a Lotus with a 2zz-ge motor (basically a Celica motor), but this is one of the better technical forums out there so I figured I'd post about it here as well.
So I replaced the old turbo on the car (seals blew) with a new GT28RS. I also altered the MAF housing configuration by moving the MAF from right behind a 90 degree bend to on a straight area immediately behind the air filter. It is the original MAF and also the same pipe OD. All in all it sat in my garage for around 6 months from the last time it was driven.
I changed the fluids, checked for leaks, etc., but when I fired it up yesterday it would instantly drop very low in RPMs and then immediately stall. If I keep my foot gently depressed on the gas it will build up RPMs but then drop back down. Basically I have to "tap" the gas pedal in order for it to maintain RPMs enough to stop from stalling. I thought maybe the ECU just needed to re-learn or something so I gently kept it on the gas for about 10 minutes but to no avail.
According to my wideband gauge it appears to be running a little lean as well.
Any ideas?

Just guessing but you might have a some water in the gas. Try draining the fuel or get some kind of fuel additive that drains the water out..
I thought about that, but do you think that the gas would go bad after only 6 months? I don't know if it matters, the but the car was kept in a garage the entire time and never really experienced extreme temperatures.
As mentioned, replace the plugs as well.
check the wiring for the mass air flow or the sensor its self could be bad. had the very same problem with my 2001 volvo s80 (inline 6 twin turbo)
i put a new filter in and messed with the MAF to clean it as well. car would do what your lotus is doing.
installed new MAF car was good to go :-)

It really depends on the seal on the gas gap; sometimes condensation can seep up into the fuel system etc. When you let a car sit for a long time, the water and the gas tend to separate so you may be sucking up water intermittently causing it to stall or sputter. I forgot what the fuel additive is called, but its suppose emulsify the water with the fuel so you get a better combustion. Its a cheap fix and worth a try

double check wiring/grounds etc, then mess w/ the gas, then _____? haha
like someone said 6 months isn't that long of a time for a tank to go bad, but then it does depend on how humid it is in your area and all that stuff
