Default fuel loss ?

recently replaced the clogged fuel pump strainer . and now its not running properly .
i have a nasty sputter from 5500-8000. also when i come to a stop my car dies out .
ive looked over everything i can think of . fuel filters are replaced . fuel pump is pumping ,
could it be my fuel pressure regulator ?
its on my 88 ef hatch with a obd0 b18a1.

Try cleaning out the screens on the tops of the injectors? Or even the fuel filter?

Maybe you stirred up some **** when you changed the sock.

Sounds like a clogged fuel filter to me. Like said above you might have stirred up a lot of stuff in the tank when you changed the strainer. I would also check the injector screens and the injectors themselves. 40 psi with vacuum applied seems a little high to me, should be more around 35. This might be a sign of clogged fuel injectors.

Did you "clean" the fuel filter, or replace it?

It's something that get's replaced, the one on the firewall, not cleaned.

all were replaced three days ago , not cleaned sorry for the mix up.
also found the problem .. went to change my timing belt , timing belt is still good .
the problem was a broken rocker arm.
