Default JDM rear bumper installed

I tried to just transfer the lower lip because the 88 DX rear bumper has the same moldings as the SiR's but looking at the 2 pics, it wont fit. I ended up installing the whole beat up jdm rear bumper and pay extra to get em fixed and painted.

I paid $100 for the rear bumper and $150 for the side skirts, but had to pay $250 extra to get the rear bumper painted and aligned to look decent. This is how it looked like when I bought it.

Incidentally, my local jdm source has front and rear jdm lips he's selling for $125. They will only fit the jdm front end and jdm rear bumpers...let me know, if anyone of you are interested.

To tell you frankly, I dont know how the bodyshop hooked it up...but i did tell em to take the stock bumper supports out...Knock on wood, as long as I dont get hit on either front or rear, there are no metal supports on those puppy....hella light. shaved at least 75 lbs just on the front and rear bumpers alone

bumper supports only protect like 5 mph hits, any faster then that it will still dent the body.... i took mine off... not the front yet but the back....

EF_LSvtec,

I see your local to the bay area... what else can your "local jdm source" get a hold of? i.e. front ends, seats etc. etc.

He's waiting for another shipment early next month and he should have a few goodies to sell. I'll post em when they arrive...I'm on the lookout for a decent SiR rear seats too. He called me last Friday though and he's selling me a pair of jdm fenders in black that have the sidemarkers. Let me know if you want it so i can call him. i think he wants about $100 or $150 for the pair.

EF_LSVtec,

Now does he only get JDM stuff for Hatches....???
I'm looking for a local JDM front end for a CRX w/or w/o fenders (either way I'm gonna use brand new USDM ones) I wanna buy one in person so I can look at the condition and don't have the time right now to drive to L.A. to do so.... so I'm on the hunt for a local one.... I do have a buddy though, that is looking to get ahold of a hatch JDM front end.....any of those?

For front end, call Venus in Sacramento, 916-739-6002 or other jdm parts like headlights, tail lights, spoilers etc, even motors and tranny...they dont ship so be prepared to drive down to pick em up....and he's only open monday to friday. About my friend, he imports jdm stuff period and not just for hatches, in fact he had jdm rear seats for CRX that he's selling...I forgot how much but let me know so I can call him up.

yeah, thats why it took 5 days instead of 2...I had them redo it because the color didnt match. Also repainted the sideskirts black and some of the window trim that was a bit faded...and paint chip on the front bumper.

Thanks Gump, coming from you...your hatch is what I aim for...Did you see the thread on classifieds, someone selling black RNR's for $1600 plus trade?...
Off the subject, any chance you might sell your car at a lower price than $8K? Dang, I should have seen your post early on and just bought your car instead. Motor alone is costing me over $5K I think all together, i've spent a bit over 15K, maybe more...
