Default Balance Shaft Question?

I have seen on my search to get my H2B set up to be a beast that you could remove it. I have seen that people have done it and have had it be a problem with oil pressure and car makes more noise. But on flip side it increases hp but only by like 15. My question is, would it even be worth the 15hp to remove the balance shaft. I need someone who has done this to input on their experience.. Thank you!

Leave the shaft in. It weighs no more than a few pounds. Leaving it in will prevent any oil loss and will not adversely affect the engine. Just dont run the belt. I left the belt off of my old H22 swapped Accord for over 100k. Never had an issue and the only time I had NVH issues was when I installed stiffer mounts. even so it was not that bad. If ,however you wish to remove them, there is an eliminator kit that you can install in its place. I think it is Kazienspeed or something of that nature...

it's just over 9 lbs. almost nothing for static weight. if you have room in the engine bay do like DCFIVER said and pull the belt off. one benefit to pulling the belt instead of performing the full "elimination" is the ease of throwing the belt back on if you don't like the vibration.

I installed Kaizenspeeds kit on my project motor (hasn't run yet). it's designed to maintain or even improve the oil pressure. if you just pull the shafts out and do nothing else you could have really low pressure.

my oil pressure increased loads with the ks delete kit, about 100 psi and about 80 psi on idle once warmed up

I just left it all stock for now... I might delete it later down the road when I put in a light flywheel...
