Icon3 WTB: 96-00 CIVIC ELECTRICAL LOAD DETECTOR (ELD) - 1 FUSE FROM FUSE BOX!!!

Hey guys, as the title states I am looking to purchase an ELD from a 96-00 Civic fusebox. I cannot order it through Honda because they only sell the entire fusebox.

Looks like this:

***NOTE THIS IS NOT A 96-00 CIVIC FUSEBOX BUT THAT IS HOW IT LOOKS***

If you have it, shoot me an e-mail with a picture and a price; Kennymejia@gmail.com. I need it shipped to Boston, MA 02130 and I will cover any shipping costs.

I thought the eld fuse was a normal fuse in the in car fuse box on an ek. Spot #14 or #15 if I remember right

Are you getting the usual voltage drop at idle causing the lights to dim and possible stalling?

@codyellis - My fusebox does have it, and others that I have seen have them too. They're a tad smaller than the one pictures, as that one is from an 01 civic.

@Dc4LsTeG - The under dash fuse you are referring to is the alternator fuse I believe. It's a 7.5 fuse and I replaced it already, but my lights still pulsate and I was told my ELD is no good.

@sicones - Not really. But my lights pulsate when I crank my music (no subwoofer, just factory speakers+alpine deck) also when I turn on my hazards/turn signals. So after doing some research, I narrowed it down to a bad ELD.

Yeah, what your describing is the alternator control signal putting the alternator in low output mode at idle and low speeds. Its only purpose is to save gas/emissions you can remove it by clipping the “ALTC” wire at the ecu. Here , read up: http://opensiuc.lib.siu.edu/cgi/view...text=auto_pres

So is this normal? Because it never happened before. It started happening a few months ago when my alternator fuse blew while I was on the highway and my car shut off. Then I replaced the fuse and the alternator and my lights have been dim and pulsating ever since - but the fuse hasn't blown again. What changes may occur if I were to clip the "ALTC" as you suggest?

Your alternator will stay in high output mode, it won't have any adverse effects, Canadian and JDM cars don't even have it, it was only done on north american cars. If you ever hook up a voltmeter and drive around you will see the batt voltage drop to ~12V then when you start driving it will jump up to ~14V, so with it clipped it will always stay at ~14V

My exterior & interior lights are pulsating rather badly I have video of it but I don't know how to upload it on here for you all to see and help me out with. I havn't gotten the MIL light or anything but it is starting to throw my SRS light. I guess cause the lack of power any help would greatly be appreciated.

Still need this? I have one, was replaced 3 years ago so it's fairly new for a 6th gen. Let me know!

If your gauge cluster, dome lights, headlights, tail lights, etc are all flickering along with the SRS light going in and out i would take a look at your alternator.

I measured the voltage with my car on the other day at both the battery and the alternator and it was over 16 Volts with the car on!

I literally just got done having a new alternator installed and it seems everything is working great now. No more flickering, and the SRS light seems to be stable.

EDIT: Its a 2000 honda civic dx coupe. Alternator was ~100 bucks re-manufactured + a core charge of about 60 bucks you get back when you return the old one.
