2005 TL car won't start.
Hi everyone,
I don't know much about cars and am in need of help! My TL is having start-up issues which led me to believe my battery was bad. I replaced my battery with a brand new one and 2 weeks later, I am still having issues getting the car started. I just had someone boost my car this morning, after a week of not running it, and it turned on. After letting the car run for about 30-45 minutes, I turned it off and the car is completely dead. Not a spec of power. What could be wrong? I really don't want to be ripped off by a local mechanic / dealership. Please help!

sounds like the alternator is the problem, although like others said it could be corroded wires or a bad ground. As far as the alternator goes... that is a specific part you will need, you could either get that from autozone, online or from a dealer. I would get one from rockauto.com (denso part no. 2100580) it is 160 minus 30 for a core. However judging by your posts it doesn't seem like you have done much work on cars in the past you should probably get a friend to help you replace this. I would rate this job considerably harder than a brake job. Simply because it is in a hard to reach location and requires you to take off the serpentine belt. For $30 you may want to replace the belt while your at it.
