Rim/Tire Swap
Hi guys,
Going to be getting a 4 door 95' soon (not sure what model exactly).
Question is: I want to use my snow tires from my 89' Civic hatch (standard model). They are on separate rims, and I believe the rims were from a 92' hatch?
I was reading that they may not swap since the 95' has abs?
Also, the previous owner had to disable the ABS, said one day he hit the brakes and it started clicking and he lost most of his braking power. Any idea what that would be? I have no problem driving without ABS, just as long as it being disabled will not harm the car.
Thanks guys/gals!

Yeah I can confirm you need at least 14" rims to clear the larger brakes on the ABS equipped 5th gens since they had 10.3" front rotors.
The pumps on the ABS systems on these cars tend to go out. It's fairly common. A lot of people just remove the pump and lines and convert to the Integra RS 4040 prop valve and use the non-ABS Civic brake lines along with having to cut and rebend one of the lines for the brake master cylinder along with putting a new tube nut on to match the larger hole on the ABS master cylinder (or put the RS brake master cylinder and booster on).
