Default AP1 shifts much smoother when cold?

Sorry if this has been asked. I recently got an AP1, and I noticed driving tonight, the first somewhat cool night since Ive had the car, probably around 55-60 F, it seems to shift much more smoothly then in warm or hot weather. I this normal? I plan on changing the trans. and diff. fluid soon anyway. But the difference I felt was like night and day. I could basically not even pay attention to how I was clutching or shifting and it was like butter. When its warm I have to be very specific to get it to drive really smooth.

Could be some nasty fluid, drain it and see.. i honestly don't know if weather actually changes the viscosity

Usually when its colder the tranny will shift like crap, especially ap1. At least until the engine is warm.

true but if u think about it .. if the tranny fluid is really beat then after it gets warmed up its going to turn into water in the tranny and cause the shifts to be notchy and nasty..

This. Unless the fluid is just super worn out or was changed with the wrong viscosity. Change the fluid and go from there.
