Default arp

So i was thinking today and i am sure we have all read posts about when you get arp rod bots that you have to hone out the rod and on main caps with arp you have to get it allign honed. On the other hand i have read many posts from people that say they have done either of these without honing and have not experienced any problems. so here is the question.... has anybody personally had a failure proven to be from not honing one of these? Also has anybody ever had the rod bolted together or the main caps bolted down (with arp hardware) and then gauged them to see how "oval" shaped they actually get?

Default Re: arp

I spun rod bearings due to the machine shop that pressed my rod bolts in not re-rounding my rods and caps. Needless to say I could prove it because I took them to a new shop and they checked them and said they were untouched. That shop bought me a new bottom end. Do it, and do it right. Hondas rely on tight specs and clearances.
