and clearly you have done little research on the purpose of a catch can, and why a PCV system is even on your vehicle to begin with.

no actually i have done quite a bit of research. that is where my question came from. Maybe i have misunderstood what i have read which is why i have asked a question. It makes me angry when people jump to the conclusion that somebody hasn't done their research and is just being lazy. I spend countless hours researching about honda motors just because i love cars and i love soaking up knowledge. Obviously i do not understand everything about them since i am currently only on my first build. However that is why i am part of honda-tech. I feel that many people have questions about something they simply don't understand and get ridiculed on here. This is a forum and the entire purpose is to have a community that supports each other In their Honda endeavors. I am not trying to call you out and i am not trying to fight on my thread. I just want to make it clear that i never ask a question without trying to figure it out on my own first. Anyway here is my understanding of it.... You have to get rid of the pressure in your block somehow. however, due to emissions they came up with the pcv which rerouted it back into your intake. So whenever you get rid of the pcv system you have to make another way to release the pressure. Which is why from what i understand you use a catch can because it is going to release the presure from your block and catch the blow by. As i asked originally.... is this correct? do i have to run a catch can if i am eliminating the pcv?

Just use a vented breather filter on the PCV nub on the back of your valve cover. I use a wire mesh screen mini filter on mine. It is sufficient enough unless you are making pretty big horsepower where blow-by is in abundance.

well see that was my original thought.... however i was told here https://honda-tech.com/forums/all-motor-naturally-aspirated-44/can-i-plug-these-3020930/ that a breather on the valve cover was insufficient

He's probably also using a breather box. I use a breather box and a small filter on the valve cover nub. Are you just wanting to clean things up or is there another reason why you don't want to run the stock system?

you nailed it right on the head. i am wanting to clean things up and keep them as simple as possible. i am planning to get rid of any and all unnecessary sensors, emissions, and anything that is just unneeded. this is going to be used for auto cross and only as a toy to drive around. i want it to be as simple as possible under the hood. it will look nice and make it much easier to work on

If that's the case, I would honestly keep the stock PCV box and valve since it sits tight behind the engine and is hardly noticeable. The filter on the valvecover nub will clean things up and prevent your TB and manifold from getting as dirty but allow your engine to properly ventilate when you compete during an autocross.

I had the same question I'm also going to run itbs but will not be running crazy horsepower I do have a breather set up and was thinking if I should make the two holes on the valve cover

I believe ventilating is important so the engine should not be sealed with just a filter on the valve cover so a small subtle catch can setup that connects to the back of the block and maybe the back of the valve cover might be best. I would see what other guys do when running ITB's.
