Thinking about swapping a boosted b16a in my coupe
How reliable is a b16a stock with about 6 psi or could I do more boost and it still be a very reliable daily driver I know nothing about b series I've only done boosted d series and I'm just looking for something better and more reliable
Well from what info I've collected here, you can boost a stock b series upto about 300hp while being somewhat reliable, but it is ALL in the tune. You need a good tune to keep things working properly. You can easily melt the pistons or crack a ringlanding if you try to mess around too much.
If I were in your situation (which I sort of am, building my own swap), I would just take the bottom end apart, replace all the bearings, get the rods and pistons checked and cleaned up, then rebuild it again. At the very minimum you're going to want ARP headstuds and a new OEM headgasket.
Someone else with more experience will be along here to help, or tell you to use the search function

Yeah thanks I was in the process of doing another d series I have all the valve train and eagle rods but I don't think I really want another d series i was going to fully build it this time instead of just the block I just can't figure out what I want to do with it
