H23a1 in a 96 ex pleazzze hhhhelppp
I got a 96 h23a1prelude engine in my 96 civic ek and I really need help with getting it running ryte I need some good advice on wat ecu to get or if I am able to get my ecu chipped I will do that but I have yet to find a program that will work for it any advice anybody?all help is much apreciated also is there any way to bypass the idle air control valve if I get the ecu chipped cause I have a no name after market intake mani on it that dont even have the idle air control valve on it or anywhere to put one so the idle flucuates.it goes up an down fromm 1000 to 1500
Im new to this I just need help thought I might find it here on honda tech ..but y put it in the civic section it has a h23a1 u think I would get more answers there or?

p14 ecu is the ecu that came with the 96 prelude Si h23a1. I would reccomend getting one of those. you can do a chipped and tuned ecu as long as it has the correct base maps. i reccomend the p14 though and you wont have any problems. chip and tune it yourself later on
that idle problem is due to the fact you have no IACV. I doubt you can tune to take that away? but maybe i'm wrong.
Alright thanx ill get the p14 bak in it and ill go buy a stok intake to put on so I can get the iacv hooked up and hopefully itll work but I have another question if the ecu I am currently running has a rev limiter and the two step launch control its already chipped huh? And to apexi I kno its not the skunk 2 u have anyidea wat it might be ? Im jus goimg to take it off ..
Should I jus put my h22a4 dohc vtec in it ? I dont like the h22 but if it will be easier ill jus go with that cause I have the stok intake for that or will that intake work on my h23
as far as i know the H22 intake manifold will work for it. lol why do you not like the H22? just curious. Well if your rev limiter is higher or lower than the stock settings than yeah...but if it has a 2-step it's more and likely already chipped, which could be another problem in itself cause that ECU could be tuned for another cars' liking.
Yeah why go h23 when you have a h22?? I mean yea a h23 has slightly higher displacement and torque but h22 has the better top end all day and all the benefits of vtec. Anywho, if that's what u wanna do that's cool. Sounds like you have the wrong base maps on your ecu. Since it seems to be chipped already you can.probably pick up the maps u need online or have someone do it. I'm curious as to what ecu you are using currently tho. Any chance u could share this info?
I jus didnt wanna go vtec cause I have a greddy boost kit that I was going to get put on when I got my car running ryte and I do like the h22 jus ive heard bad things bout boosting them and I figured id try to find a crx to throw the h22 in ...and thanx for the advice im gonna try out the h22 intake and i was running a pr4 but I jus put the p14 I had in . And now im bot to go to a local shop with a dyno and have them set the pr4 with the ryte base map since u said it could be the wrong one but im going to do that after I put the h22 intake on
And thanx for the advice guys it is running jus a litte better with the p14 but not allot better but I think u have me on the ryte trak to getting it runnin ryte
*thanks, *just, *little, *alot, *you, *right, *track, *running, *right. Sorry that was getting on my nerves.
