so i have a 96 honda civic 5 speed.


i have 2 problems that i have started noticing.

1. started about 1 month ago. Simply when i stopped, the car would idle very very low and sometimes shut off. It would usually happen after it had warmed up a little, but it still does that at times.

2. started about 2 weeks ago. When i am driving, i feel the car stutter or "jolt" for a little bit... It usually happens right after i shift gears and then it will just go.

I checked fluids and the only thing that was low was coolant and last oil change was 4000 miles. Im not sure about the other maintenance stuff.

I dont know too much about cars so please try to keep it simple.

 

Lets start with the Check Engine Light? Is it on?

Had the same problem wit mine ....i replaced the distributor and problem solved..

 

If you've never done a tune up since you've owned the car you might want to try that first.

 

No check engine light.

Will look at distributor.... and tuneup.
