hey guys....got a quick questions hoping someone might have an answer or has experienced this before.

2000 Civic EX that had a D16y8 swap. Everything worked fine, no CEL.
Same Harness,
Swapped a B20Vtec in it and runs like a champ but I had to unplug the reverse light sensor because when plugged in, and go into reverse, the car gets a rough idle, throws a CEL for a knock sensor, and eventually will stall out. When unplugged works fine in reverse with no CEL or rough idle, just no lights.

ECU Chipped P06 with B20Vtec basemap and knock sensor disabled.
Tried running knock sensor for ***** and giggles and didn't fix.
Tried swapping reverse sensors to see maybe faulty wiring and didn't fix.

The only instance ive seen in my search was a 89 civic that had the same problem but different CEL light (Coolant Temp Sensor) and people replied by cutting a wire on the engine harness and i really don't want to do that without proper assurance that this will fix the problem.

Check for continuity between the reverse light plug and the knock sensor plug.

 

i'll try that this weekend....but not sure if that's the problem considering never had the problem before in stock engine...and it was a nice clean swap within 1 week.
