Cluster swap problem
1989 Civic Hatch Dx
My car is down with Jacks up cause Driver side axles cracked. so its on jack stands.
Been down for 3 weeks.
And recently changed my old dx cluster for an si cluster cause it has tach.
Started it up cold and my car idles about 4k rpm.
But When i turn off the car it gets stuck at 2k rpm
Could it be the cluster?
Tried googling em but didnt know where to start.
Any help appreciated thanks.

Was the cluster sitting on zero before you plugged it in? Try disconnecting the cluster and looking at the gauge. If it is stuck, then it's your cluster, if it does back down to zero, it's your rpm signal. Try tapping the signal into the blue wire on the dizzy and see if it is getting a good signal.
i had the same problem when i put a 91 si cluster in my 89 crx si i had to rewire everything even when i was finished it still did got stuck i checked through the whole harness and found a split in the rpm wire about half way through cut soldered and shrink wrapped no problem anymore try lookin for a short somewhere hope this helps
