96 Civic HX blowing white smoke after oil change?
Here's my question I noticed a few times after my oil change that when I start my car up that white smoke comes out of the exhaust in like the dirt 15 minutes of the start up. Now my roommate said its possibly that my oil rings are going out. Is this possible? It's not the first time I noticed this. Maybe about a year ago I noticed the white smoke when I started the car up. I always figured it would have to do with the new oil after the oil changes? Cars not loosing any power. Idling perfect. No other problems. Any input will help.
Well if the weather is cold its going to blow out white smoke when you first start it. What oil rings is your friend talking about? Piston rings?
white smoke out of exhaust when cold is normal, mine does it almost every morning during winter if its could enough, some days more than others, but if thats only when its happening i wouldnt worry.
my y7 does it 99% of cold starts. but stops once warmed up. It can be that it needs new piston rings (one is to keep the oil from coming up) or it could need new valve seals
Well today I lent it to my friend and noticed that when he drove away a some smoke came out the bam exhaust pipe. 5:30pm in SoCal idk I'm worried
