Default b18b1/crx wont start

Today i tried to crank my crx with the b18b1 swap. When i tried to crank the car it wouldnt even turn over but when i got out the car i could see fuel dripping from the fuel filter which i could imagine the fuel pump is working. also when i looked on the dash the batter light was flash and also a couple of other lights that i'm not sure what it could be. Has anyone else had the same trouble and if so how did you fix it? If you have any helpful tips on what i should look for anything would be nice.

battery and cables are good. I checked the fuel line that was leaking on the fuel filter that leads to the fuel rail. Alot of people have told me that i need something called a sealing washer gasket. Inatead of ordering a whole fuel filter is there a sealing washer gasket i could buy from the parts store? Also what size would it have to be?

I replaced the main relay from one that i had laying around. When i turn the key to the on position with the engine off i can head the main relay click so i know that it's working. I fixed the fuel problem that was shooting from the hosethat goes from the fuel filter to the fuel rail. I had my starter tested today at a local parts store and suprisingly it passed the test. So where do i go from here now?

Could be a bad ignition or the clutch switch/neutral safety switch.

I'd start with the clutch switch. Under dash, follow clutch pedal up and you will see when the clutch is pushed down to the floor it contacts a switch. Very often, the plunger piece that touches the button on the end of the switch breaks off. Easy fix.

I'll have to look at that also. I took off the distributor cap and saw some oil on the inside bottom of it. When I looked at the distributor it had mold and oil on it. All the connectors was lime green.

Yes, that's why I'm throwing these ideas at you. The usual suspects are the battery, cables, grounds, blown fuses, clutch switch, or ignition.

I replaced the negative batters ground cable and connected the starter cable wire to the negative terminal. Today I'm gonna check out the clutch safety switch. I found something out today also when I try to crank the car and it make that 1 clicking noise everything in the car goes dim alittle.

Why would you connect the starter cable wire to the - terminal? Sounds like a weak battery or bad ground connections. What grounds are present on your car? You should have a good ground for battery to chassis, transmission to chassis, valve cover to chassis, and thermostat ground is critical. Make sure where any chassis grounds are connected that you sand down to bare metal, not just to the primer which looks like bare metal.

Thanks crxtectim I'm gonna give it a try to see If it helps. If the battery terminal is not a good place for the starter cable that is tighten by down by that little nut.

Luckly the car turns over but for some weird reason wont start. I stuck a straw in the the cylinder head to see if i can smell gas which i know for sure i'm getting. I know the timing on the crank and cams are within specs. I'm not a 100% sure if i'm getting sperk to the cylinders to ignite the air/fuel mixture. Has anybody ran into a problem like this and if so what did you do to correct it?

Also my car is throwing a code 16 which i think is a fuel injector code. Is there a way to test the injector with a multimeter to make sure they are readying properly? or could it be the spark plug wires not pulsing properly

Pull out the first spark plug wire put it against one of the metal valve cover bolts, have someone turn the key and check for spark...if there is spark check ur injector Wiering make sure they are wired rite.

Is there a way to check the injectors ohm to see if they are working properly?

I also had another couple of questions i looked in my engine bay and i found some wire that werent connected to anything and was wondering where they go.

This was on the end of the harness over by the injector resistor box

Here is the injector resistor plug that has a yellow/black wire going into another plug

I'm not sure where this plug goes but i know the 2 small wires go to the brake fluid resevoir

Would anybody know these codes and how you fixed them?

I had this problem with my crx when I first got it, and it wound up being my ignition switch and my main relay... the relay would click most of the time but not everytime, I could usually switch the key off then back on a few times and it would finally start... I got tired of having to do that of course so I replaced the main relay and so far so good... hope this helps and good luck
