How hard to turbo a ZC?
Middle link in my sig....
go to the "article" section...and you will find my page on a Junk Yard turbo setup for a ZC.

Thanks! Awsome web site!
The only question I have is do I need to get a new ECU? I have a PM7 right now, and it says on your site that you spent close to grand for a ECU upgrade? Is there a cheaper way to do that?

Yeah, Bryson is tha man.
If I had known more about them, I would made myself a j/yard kit; but I went out and got a Greddy kit w/ BOV/FMIC/FMU for $1200. It's got decent power, and I should be in the mid/low 14's, but it's still a snail.
As for the ECU, you don't need one. Edyne/Hondata/etc, are the best but most expensive ways of doing it.
If you don't go w/ the Edyne/Hondata, there are a couple of:
1. FMU/inline fuel pump-You can use stock injectors, and this is the cheapest route. No tuning capability though. (Aprox cost, $200-$250)
2. AFC/DSM 450cc injectors, upgrade fuel pump-Next cheapest route. Not a whole lot of tuning available, as you have to have a baseline set on the AFC in order to run the DSM 450cc injectors. (This is what I am doing. I am using a SMC though instead of the SAFC) (Aprox cost, W/AFC, $450 (EVERYTHING); W/SMC, $250 (Yes, cheap as the FMU/inline, but you have to install the injectors and pump.)
Don't skimp on the fuel...or you will be regretting it later. Hondata is nice, but you will have to eventually upgrade the fuel if you want to keep the engine tuned, so you'll end up spending the $$$ anyways.
I say go w/ the SMC/AFC and the 450cc's for now. It can handle up to 10psi, and the ZC's love it.

I was reading your site just before this post, if you did it over would you go with the RHB5 again or would you go with a T-25? I have a ZC and I have a big toss up between getting a 1. T-25 for a little over $100 because it would make things easier, 2. A RHB5 at the local junkyard, or 3. A T3 for $30.

just curious, since i am really interested why do u want to get rid of it so fast. i know the 14 flat didn't seem like a great quarter mile time but theres many aspects to good times. or do u think it is the setup,, is it better, worse or same effectiveness as a dsm turbo?? let me know what u think, because i have a guy lined up to buy my nx kit for about the same price.
dude its fast, with some good tires and good track it will hit a 13.5
there are a couple thing that i want to do to increase flow a little, like post the O2 housing and the manifold (i didnt do very much) and i think that will fix the topend a little. there is nothing wrong with the turbo or anything, ive just got my first taste of boost and want more...

also: what is a SMC?
What ratio FMU is enough? I foung two on eBay..one is 12:1 and the other is 8:1???

there are pre tuned turbo programs on ebay, but their all junk, stick with stock ECU/Injectors/FMU/FPR/FUEL pump, or spend the money and go Zdyne with injectors and a pump.
Mugen doesnt do turbo cars, so why would you use a Mugen tune???
What FMU ratio is the best? 12:1 or 8:1?
Seriously I would stick with the stock ecu and not get it chipped. The mugen programs not only change fuel but also change the timing maps as well which can cause detonation if since the mugen timing maps are designed for a n/a motor and not a fi motor. If the maps advance the timing too far engine damage can occur. I would stick with the larger injectors/afc, inline fuel pump and fmu, or a standalone system.

if you dont want to go with a home made kit you can buy a GReddy turbo kit for a D16Z6 92-95 Civic EX. Everything bolts up but the intercooler and piping.
Mugen doesnt do turbo cars, so why would you use a Mugen tune???
SMC=Side mount intercooler
SMC=Side mount intercooler
edit:
But you woudnt want to use a Mugen program on a turbo car. Its insufficient and worthless. Your better off just cutting your rev limiter and your speed govenor and calling it a day.

no, its not an intercooler in this case.read the post

The I/C piping works well though. It hangs a little low, but I'm using it on mine:
