Default vtec question on f22b1

Alright so i got another noobish question to ask. I know VTEC is a process of air and oil pressure i would just like to know some more information on it. Where exactly does it take place. I have a h23a transmission im putting on my f22b1 and was wondering sine the tranny isnt off a VTEC engine does that have anything to do with the VTEC process. Once again sorry for asking dumb question im just new and am learning.

your question is confusing...are you trying to locate your VTEC or are you trying to find out when it kick in?
VTEC located on the engine
VTEC kicks in around 4500 rpm to 5000rpm
doesnt matter what tranny you put on the ENGINE has VTEC

hopefully that answer your question

Doesn't matter if your trans is from a VTEC chassis or not. It's the engine that is VTEC not the trans. That being said, the transmissions are usually mated to match the rev range of the specific VTEC or non VTEC engine they are attached to. The H23 trans will actually work pretty well with the low engagement RPM of the F22B1 VTEC.

VTEC engages at different RPM's on the F22B1. And it is much lower than 4500.

It engages anywhere between 2300 and 3200 and stays engaged as long as the required parameters are being met, up to red line 6200 rpm.

VTEC or valve timing changes, occur when the following conditions have been met;
Engine speed - 2300-3200 (depending on manifold pressure)
Vehicle speed - 6.2Mph (10kph) or faster
Engine coolant temp = 50°F (10°C) or higher
Engine load - determined by intake manifold negative pressure

Each VTEC engine has it's own set of specific parameters.
