Default Clutch install with engine/transmission out. TQ specs?

Hi guys..

My engine's arriving tomorrow (9th.. JDM h22), and i was wanting to go ahead and put the clutch/flywheel combo in.

I have clutch, flywheel, pressure plate, and a release bearing....is this the same as the throwout bearing?

Is there some other bearing that I need to replace while it's apart? Is a clutch alignment tool absolutely necessary?

And finally, I don't have access to a helms....can somebody give me the TQ specs for everything?

I'd really appreciate it.

i cannot stress the importance of this ****. WE were tryin to put my friend's gsx tranny back in by eyeballin the alignment, guess what? It wasnt good enough. This was with the motor in the car, no lifts or hoists, ghetto rigged the trannny w/ some rope and tied it to a bar that two people would pick up. Anyways get the alignment tool, i got one at auto zone for 2 bucks.

i don't have my helms with me, but i think the torque spec on the flywheel is around 72 ft.lbs. throwout bearing and release bearing are the same thing. the clutch alignment tool is necessary to line the clutch disc up with the crank...i think. when i used my alignment tool it just held the clutch disc in place as i tightened down the pressure plate to the flywheel. you will also need to use a screw driver through the flywheel to hold it into place as you tighten the bolts. and for the pressure plate i had my friend hold it as i tightened the bolts...32 lbs isn't much.

tq specs:
~72, flywheel onto crank, 8 bolts
~ 32, pressure plate, forgot how many bolts.

the release bearing will go onto the fork and slides onto the shaft from the transmission

btw, getting the transmission mounted onto the engine was a real bitch.. my friend literally laid down and kicked it for a few minutes until it went on... hehe.

GOOD LUCK!

lol..thanks for the warning on the alignment tool guys

Now, as far as the Flywheel to crank....do I reuse the stock bolts?

I've got new bolts to mount the PP to the flywheel.

Do i need to use loctite on anything?

Thanks for the help.
