Icon2 no vtec

hey peeps.. i have a 91 integra it had in a b16a2... i am not getting any vtec... neither hear nor feeel it.... not sure what the problem might be...theres a slight leaking under where the solenoid is.... might that be the problem im not sure.... can somone help please

Not enough oil pressure maybe. Check engine light on? Check your codes.

fix leak. c what happens... vtec solenoids need to read certain oil pressure (i think 70psi?) to activate

im not sure if the ecu was swapped i just got the car.... but the thing is the vtec works somtimes... not all the time.. when it works it revs to about 8300rpm an when the doesnt work it revs to 7000 rpm

Pull your carpet up and find out what kind of ecu it is, there is a sticker on the side of it. The person may have just used an LS ecu and wired up vtec themselve's, and the wiring job might be fubar.

yup i would say wiring, i had a small brake in one of my vtec wires and i never was able to find it i ended up running 2 new wires right from the ecu to the solenoid, of course this was after i paid 100 bucks for a new solenoid lol. the oil leak could be the issue depending on how much it leaks but it would have to be a fairly large leak. if its intermittent my guess is the wires.

try changing the oil it could be too thin or could be the wiring too

hey guys i checked all that u said an i sealed the solenoid..... the part that was leaking...i also checked the wiring and its ok an current is reaching the solenoid... the vtec engages more often now but still not all the time...the next think i wanna ask if the oil is tooo thin can that prevent it from engaging in vtec
