D15b2 in 90 crx Hf with stock pm8 Hf ecu yuck...ecu options?
So I bought this 1990 crx Hf in miami for 850$ bodys a 4/10 but zero rust all stock never molested engine only got 129,361 on it great car. it's got a d15b2 mpfi in it from the factory but the stock Hf 72 hp pm8. I bought a pm5 off eBay in hopes to get the 92 hp the pm5 produces ....... But it's a dpfi ecu I learned this after doing more research on why my car won't start lol any way to make it work or other ecus that will work to make more power any help will be greatly appreciated
So just hunted craigslist all day, just put in the fresh pm6 and all that seems it did was increase the redline??? Shes got a brand new air filter(its a ram air style intake), fuel filter, oil/filter, coolant, brand new bcpr6e ngk plugs, and wires, distributer looks good. Is this normal? She smells a little rich too.
you really need to do some research. the stock d15b6 was a small port 8 valve engine designed for one thing, mpgs. it had a low red line due to not flowing at all. the pm6 came with the larger d16a6 from the si/ex models, which has a 16 valve head, along with a larger intake manifold/intake/air box/exhaust set up/intake and exhaust ports. the d15b2 has the same head as an a6, but came factory dpfi, and the cam lobes are offset slightly to compensate for the smaller and shorter 1.5l bottom end.
so yes, you are probably running rich, as it's not getting enough air flow to match the upped fuel maps. i'd source an intake manifold from either a stock d16a6, d15b7, or d16z6 for stock plug n play swap over

id clean the car up and sell it to someone that will value its amazing fuel economy and then use the money to buy a car that was not designed from the get go to get great mileage.
your other option is to swap a better head on there, but it does seem to be a waste when fuel economy is such a valuable trait in cars now.

you should be able to sell that crx to somebody like me who wants a commuter car that can get 50mpg's...hf's arent easy to find anymore
heck, i may even straight up trade you my 91 dx?

rattle can that thing all one color and get rid of it.. Youll probably make money on it.. Just clean it up, make it all one color and frequent the junkyards for interior.. guaranteed to make money on it..
Then go find an Si or a car that someone has already swapped..

only one tiny rust spot under the gas tank fill door. The interior is compleatly intact everything works perfectly, just got brand new seatbelts( under warranty ) from honda. I am about to reupholster the seats back to factor mint.Brand new used lights all around still stock no hids or smoked out garbage taillights. She did not get a lot of lovin from the prevous owner, looks like its never been washed
but everything underneath the car is tight. I love this car a lot i am mecanicly inclined so i want to make it a sleeper. I dont want to change the out side of the car just want it to be like new on the inside. Everything to function perfectly. I want the engine to be just a little bit faster because i plan to evetualy put a 3rd gen zc and maybe a turbo. I got crx si brakes all the way around about to go in this weekend .... I was just wondering if it was running rich because of maybe i need a new o2sensor or if i got the wrong plugs or somthing.
