Obd2 harness --> Obd0 harness question
So I am dropping an OBD2 LS motor into my hatch..
My previous setup was an Obd0 B16a.. stolen.. but they left the harness untouched to the shock towers
My question is:
if I buy and Obd0 -> Obd1 jumper for the ECU plugs (running an OBD1 ECU), can I simply plug the OBD2 LS harness into my harness at the shock towers without any problems??
Please contribute any and all helpful information, thanks

no. you will need to source out an engine harness that matches your car. not one that matches the motor. after you source out the correct harness, you will then modify it as needed.
if your car is a DPFI (originally, since you already stated your car had a B16 it has to already have been MPFI) then you will need a stock DPFI harness, and convert to MPFI...
you should know the drill if you did your original B16 swap.
if its a SI (or HF) trim then you need an SI (or HF) harness. make the needed mod for the fan switch, and your all good to go.

thanks for the info.. as stated, the original harness is still in the car (ECU to shock tower) converted to MPFI as you mentioned..
but the motor, and everything on it (alternator / dizzy) is OBD2. so what are my options from motor to the existing harness at shock tower?
I read that the OBD2 harness from the motor can plug into an OBD1 harness at the shock tower.. I was hoping I could do the same....
so, to recap, I already have an OBD0 harness in the cabin to the shock tower.. I just need to know what to do for wiring in the engine bay itself..

Get the stock engine harness to match your car modify as needed
Convert to obd1 or stay obd0
Dizzy should match Ecu obd1 Or obd0
Alternator obd0 Or obd1 will work

so i'm understanding I can use an OBD0 harness (to match the car) and the plugs should fit all the sensors and just get a jumper for the dizzy..
I will also have to eliminate the resistor box.. yea? all 4 injectors to constant 12v (as they are obd2 )

you can use an obd2 alternator, but it will require rewiring.
get a harness that matches your body harness (88-91 Civic/CRX DX) and modify it to an obd1. thats the only way to get it to work. if your electrically inclined then you could take apart your main harness (from shock tower plugs to under dash and ecu plugs) and covert it all to accept a stock obd2 harness. its doable, but very time consuming.
1. find a clean uncut 88-91 civic/crx DX harness
2. modify your alternator plug from round to squared
3. add in 2 injector plugs
4. add in 2 distributor wires
5. add in a 4 wire o2 sensor
6. modify your fan switch from 2 female bullet terminals to a round plug and relocate to thermostat housing

Just go to rywire.com they have a obd0 to obd2 conversion harness they also have distributer adapters and alternator adapter, they can also add the knock sensor plug and they have a 2 wire to 4 wire o2 sensor adapter aswell.
Yu clearly have no idea what the OP was saying. He isn't looking for an obd0 to obd2 ecu jumper. His question was about if the newer engine harness would work with his older body harness.
