Default D15B7

Hey guys, I'm new to this forum and also new to owning a Honda, seeing I am 16 and its my second car (had a 95' Cavalier, but I wanted something else so sold it and bought a 95' Civic). I was just wondering what all I could do to get some more horses out of this engine, its completely stock. My friend told me that putting a d16z6 head on it would give me about 20 or more so horses. I know I'm a noob, but I'm just trying to learn. Gotta start somewhere lol.

Thanks,
Perry

research day in and day out.
your choices are two. swap or turbo.
the D series make garbage power all day any day on NA.
any NA motor will be expensive. not to say turbo won't put a dent in your pocket but not as much as NA.

now your only 16 so research and save money. when you have like 2kish start planning/buying/building/ and tuning. there are plenty of already done build threads, silly questions, and repeat posts for you to learn from. not throwing a 16 year old a wish list of never gonna get it done. unless you have one of the sweetest paying jobs you can get at your age.

I only make about $600 a month so my job is minimum wage with minimum hours, but it pays my gas and insurance with a little extras left over. I'll dig through the threads and see if I can learn some more and find an idea of what I'm going to do. I was thinking of converting my auto to a stick but honestly I completely blow at driving stick, I know this is a noob question but would that conversion make that big of a difference?

Get a d16a6 camshaft, intake header exhaust and tune, should be in stock z6 power range or mill the head some like 0.040 and run some kind of aftermarket cam, 130whp is pretty easy/cheap on a b7

You'll then need a chip or p28 to make it run and still make less power, then same p28 plus i/h/e and then its not cheaper, plus I'm kinda of partial to nonvtec d series, I like them a lot better

To the op, do what you want you have options

Thanks a lot, both of you. I'll look into both of these options and continue reading through the threads. Hopefully by this summer I can maybe start doing some of these things.
