gsr swapped ek trying to pass inspection
just have a question before i buy everything. i swapped my 95 gsr motor into a 96 dx. my motor is all obd1, and have a chipped p28 with the obd2a to obd1 jumper. i know i can't pass.
to pass is all i need is the obd2a to obd2b jumper, what ecu do i need to run?
2nd 02 sensor and ck trick? thanks guys

You could run an OBD2a P30 from a 96-97 Del Sol VTEC, but those are pretty rare. You could also run an OBD2b ecu from an EM1 or the OBD2 ecu from a GSR.

You might not pass automatically because you have an older engine in a newer chassis. If NJ is as tight on this kind of stuff as CA I think you're done before you start.
In PA, it will be fine as long as you convert all the OBD1 stuff to OBD2a (alternator, injectors, distributer, and ecu). That's what I'm doing for my swap.
The EM1 ecu will only work with an OBD2a to OBD2b jumper, I forgot to mention that earlier.

This can be done to bypass it http://technet.ff-squad.com/code91.htm
Depending on your state though this will not get you through an OBD2 emissions check. While you will no throw any codes, the OBD2 system will not come online for the EVAP system. This is because the ECU will look for minor voltage differences from the FTP sensor, if you are throwing a constant 2.5v into the ECU it will not recognize this and thus the OBD2 readiness monitor will not turn on. If your state requires all monitors to be active your car will fail without a check engine light.
I bypassed this by using a P30 OBD2 ecu since the del sol did not have the FTP sensor. Also you can pull the sensor from an ex or si.
If anyone is searching and happens upon this thread feel free to PM me and I can try to help you get your motor through emissions, I had very little help while doing it and would be more than happy to help others.
