Well i have an obx lsd and i pulled the trans to see if something is wrong with the diff, but now i cant get the half shaft out, I have tryed to pry it out and beat it out from the other side... any ideas?

 

any way u could get a slide hammer and get it fastened to the shaft i used a pair of vice grips with a ring loop on the bottom and connected the slide hammer to the vice grips
one good whack using the slide it pop the shaft right out

 

ive used a small in diameter chisel that's fairly long and went through the center of the passanger side axel opening and reach in through the very center of the diff all the way through the small washer's in the obx unit and contacted the half shaft and taped it out with a hammer this way.. had too do it too my own tranny had the same thing happen

 

i like his reply , smack it or beat the hell out of it with a slide hammer you dont want to be to rough on it you could mess your diff up

 

I think the diff is already toast, which is fine with me im going to a quaife after this bs, I think the splines are interlocked making it so hard to get out, Me and my buddy beat hard on the half shaft with no luck. We are gonna try a bigger hammer tomorrow, ill post the results.

 

Was pretty common when the OBX LSD first came out. I thought the issue was resolved. Apparently not...

 

Don't buy OBX ****. Sucks to be you! I'd take a long extension at least a half inch and beat it out with a stone hammer from the other side.

 

If you have an air hammer you could give that a shot.
