Default Speed Sensor Issue

Whats up honda tech i need your guys help,

I put in a new clutch and flywheel on my 94 civic eg original motor D16z6 and transmission s20. Now with the speed sensor on the transmission connected the car stalls out once i start letting go of the clutch and giving gas in first gear maybe 2-3 mph before it stalls. When I unplug it, it drives normally except no speedo, check engine/abs lights on, and no odometer. I got another sensor from the junkyard for $6 and put it in but same thing. Should I buy a new one? Runs about $100 at autozone. How often do these things go bad or any other possible suggestions. Thanks

Default Re: Speed Sensor Issue

What CEL codes are thrown?

The speed sensor (VSS) gets voltage from a circuit shared with the main relay (fuel pump and ECU control). You may have a short in the VSS plug or VSS circuit.
