Default ls/vtec question

ok so i traded my 240 for a lsvtec crx and the harness is a complete hackjob so im replacing the ecu jumper harness and engine harness, i have a b18a1 and b16a2 head. now my question is should i use the b18a1 engine harness and im getting a obd1 vtec ecu, will i need the obd1 to obd0 conversion harness, thanks guys!

ps did info but couldnt find conclusive results, most seemed like they didnt know what they were talking about, so i decided to ask.

use a new stock wiring harness that came with your car. if your car was dpfi stock, then you will need to do the conversion. if it was mpfi, then you won't. you can't use the b18a1 harness because it won't plug into your firewall connectors.

if you just want a plug and play though, you can get one from rywire.com. but they're not cheap

to be as helpful as I can.
the easiest way to tell if it is dpfi is to see that there is only 2 injector plugs on the harness, one is green, one is brown.

and as far as the engine harness goes, just get an obd0 engine harness from any ef.
convert it to multi point by adding 8 wires, 1 signal and 1 ground for each injector. the 4 signals go to the ecu, the other 4 go to the resistor box. than you have to swap 2 wires at the ecu (orange and white) and add 2 (blue w/yellow, blue w/green) at the ecu and run them to the dizzy, the 2 you swap, and 2 you add are for the dizzy.

the easiest way to convert is use the old injector wires already in the harness and just look at the ecu to see the order and connect them accordingly. I like to make my own sub-harness with correct factory color wiring to easily match up each injector, but there is multiple ways to do it.

after it is converted to multipoint, you need a jumper harness obd0 - obd1, either from ebay, or make your own or buy an expensive one from rywire or other companies.
the rest is mostly plug and play. it has the extra wires to run for vtec, o2 sensor, knock sensor, etc.

if your crx is an hf or an si, it's factory mpfi. if it's a dx its factory dpfi. simple as that.

ok just try and locate a stock and in good condition crx si harness and add the vtec wires and to check if your running mpfi just see if youre running 4 or 2 injectores, 4 is multiple fuel injection(mpfi) 2 is dual point fuel injection(dpfi) so you should check for how many injector plugs you have
or you coud get a crx mpfi harness then go to rywire.come and get the obd0 to obd1 conversion harness with the vtec subharness if your going with obd1

OOORRR you could just save yourself the trouble and go out and get a 1992-1995 honda civic ex obd1 wiring harness and use a p28 ecu! plug and play from there! obd1 is alot easier to use than the obd2 and obd0 (sence these two look for more sensors than obd1)..

don't listen to this guy. swapping in an entire obd1 body harness is a lot harder than it sounds.

o/p you should get in touch with crxsi he makes custom harness's for cheap. i'd just take your stock harness and re wire it so it's clean, the way i see it, is as long as all the stock plugs are there then it's good to use. little solder never hurt any one

Tell that to poor Jimmy who now has a glass eye...

He makes harnesses cheap or he makes cheap harnesses?
