Default Inner tie rod question

I am currently rebuilding my hatch from the ground up. I am in the process of reassembling the steering rack. I had purchased Moog both inner & outter tie rod ends. My question is about the design of the inner tie rod. Upon opening the inner tie rods I discovered that the design of the 2 are completely different. One looked exactly like the old ones. The other was completely different. See pics below.

The factory piece

The odd Moog replacement

Notice the ball pivots are on different sides.

Originally I just figured the wrong part was in the correct box, but after verifying the design of the part from other part stores. I realized that Moog must have changed their design.

To get to my point... Should I return the Moog peice & get an alternate brand (Beck Arnley) or should I just run the new design on one side & the old on the other?

Moog is actually one of the better aftermarket parts manufacturers, I would trust Moog over Beck Arnley, Milestar, OE Spectrum etc etc... Unless you go through Honda unfortunately you won't get the exact same part. Aftermarket parts manufacturers' products don't look exactly like a honda part. I can assure you though they're the same part

^I agree, Moog makes quality chassis and suspension parts. I'd either stick with the Moog stuff or go directly to the dealer for OEM parts.

I also agree with the fact that moog makes quality parts. That's why I ordered them in the first place. However, I received 2 different designs from moog. One looks exactly like the replacement in the 1st pic & the other looks like the 2nd pic. My question is will it matter if I run the moog replacement that looks like the oem peice on one side & the moog replacement that has different design (as pictured) on the other side.

Is it possible to just get two of the new design?
I don't see the harm in having the two different designs on the inner tie rods but it would be comforting to know you have two of the same down there anyway.

I just rebuilt my steering rack as well with OEM parts and a Quaife Rack and pinion.

and +1 for Moog.

This would be a good idea if I hadn't already installed the old design one, boot & all, thinking that I just had the wrong part. Also, I ordered them from rockauto so after paying return shipping. It would probably be a wash just to order a matching one.

How do you like the Quaife rack? I debated on adding this, but felt the bang for the buck wasn't in its favor. Did you notice a big difference from stock?

Haven't driven the car yet, but messing with the wheel, it seems to be pretty damn quick.

OEM pinion on the top.
