This Main Relay Good or Bad?
Does this Main relay look good or bad, wha you think? i see some little rust spots around but i dont know if its that bad to cause the starting problems im having..
should i buy a new one?
should i buy a new one?
Sorry but it is really hard to tell with those pictures. Look for any cracks in the solder.. You could try and just remelt all the pins and see if it cures the problem..I would just buy a new one if you aren't sure what you are looking for..
Thats not rust, thats the solder flux left over from when the board was made, not an issue. I would push/pull/wiggle gently on each connection and resolder any that are loose or appear to move. You'l know if you have a bad one.

ok well the solder flux thing looks like it got everywhere on the board alil bit, or wha about that
They also encapsulate the boards with an epoxy product so that the connections and components will be less suseptible to water damage. That is probably what you are seeing, again not a problem.
ok so then im good, ill do that push/wiggle wit the connectors and see wha happens, if anything ill jus get a new one jus to be sure, i check my fuel pressure, fuel is comin through, so im good on that, today ima get the battery fully charged
I would just do like the other guy said, hit all the points with a hot soldering iron to be sure. If you have a friend with a mid 90s honda, try it out on their car to see if it gives the same symptoms it does on yours. good luck

my car is jus cranking up but wont turn all the way over, im really close tho, i jus got my starter checked today, its good so its not the starter, now im gonna work on the fuel, see if fuel is even goin through
Sounds like battery to me, have you checked its voltage? Take it to autozone or wherever and have them load test it (its free). Could have a dead cell, show close to good voltage and then drop severely during cranking.
X2. if it was the main relay it would spin over fine just wouldn't actually crank. If it is trying to spin over but then stops then it is either a weak battery, bad battery, cables loose or corroded, or defective starter. Have you tried to jump the car off?
i bought the righ battery and tryed it wit the new battery, now the engine is very close to starting all the way, something else is up, today ima mess wit the fuses and fuel system
i got the starter check at autozone, they said its good

You can get these things for like 25 bucks at rockauto. You just have to wade through different categories and find one cheap. I got mines for 30 out the door with a coupon code.
