what to use to keep aluminum engine/trans clean and looking like aluminum?
getting ready to dive into another build - and i have a question...
what are you guys using to keep the block/head/trans clean and new looking?
in the past i usually have painted everything with aluminum colored high-temp paint, but i'm seeing if there are any other options for keeping the aluminum parts from discoloring and looking dingy... yes, i wash the engine bay when i wash the car, but it still gets a bit oxidized looking...
car is not a show car, and it gets tracked and daily'ed occasionally.
thanks for the input.

Saw a guys bay the other day sprayed with WD40. Domestic. But it would make sense. It was designed to keep aluminum rockets protected from corrosion. I mean, there are commercially available engine shine products out there, too. But WD lasts a long time. It was a little smelly, prolly go away..I spray my turbo with it periodically (exterior) to inhibit rust on the hot side.
