so i've completely diassembled my b16 head for a minor port and clean up..upgraded valvesprings and retainers wutnot..keep in mind the head was produced in 1990(20 plus yrs old)..question is do u guys think the stock valves will still have the strength it did new 20 yrs ago?? they look okay besides the carbon build up on the exhaust.. or should i just replace em? the motor rebuild is nuttin more than a ctr pistoned b16a w/stage 2 cams.

 

It depends on there history and what they've been through. I'd just replace them if it was me...

 

That's almost a rhetorical question. After 20 years of use and abuse almost nothing is as strong as it was when new. You can reuse them but if you want piece of mind, i'd replace them.and your valve springs, have your valve guide clearence checked, new valve seals and most importantly, a new valve job.
