Valve Kepers on a B18C1 Build??
I'm putting my head back together and was wondering if I should get new OEM valve keepers, aftermarket keepers, or just run the ones I have?
I'm running a stock GSR bottom end with a ported & polished, 3-angle valve job head milled .030", bronze valve guides, supertech dished nitride-coated valves, omni-power dual valve springs & Ti retainers.
I'll be running CTR intake and exhaust cams, but will probably go with larger cams in the future (RM 22x or S2 Pro 1).
My car is a '95 GSR & the head casting says the build date is '94. I've heard that the newer OEM keepers are harder/stronger than the old ones.
So, should I go ahead and get new keepers? Are there any aftermarket keepers that would work with the supertech valves and omni-power springs & retainers?
Let me know what you all-motor guru's out there think! Thanks

I've never had a problem with keepers....just install error. I believe ferrea makes some, but IMO its kind of pointless....however I can't see them being that expensive, so you cant go wrong with replacing them if they are cheap.
$1.87 each at acura or ferreas are like $85/set

Are the ferrea's compatible with any retainer? Or are they only compatible with ferrea retainers?
Also, where are they around $85 a set? The only h-t supplier I've seen selling them has them for ~$4 a retainer, so $120+ for the set.
Any other opinions out there? Thanks.

Im pretty sure that horsepowerfreaks has them for $85/set. Im not sure because I think thats for "16" and I believe thats for "16" pairs of keepers and not just 16 halfs. Its confusing because some people call both sides a valve keeper (half a side is half a keeper) and others just call one half a keeper.
