97 civic - power with key off, no power with key on

Icon2 97 civic - power with key off, no power with key on

I have a 97 civic i bought the car with a LS in OBD-1 Come To find out the motor in the car was blown up....

I built a Poor Mans Type R swapped it in....

but not to sure what is going on

the ls started up car acted normal now

no key in the ignition my radiator fan, check engine light, heater blower but when i put the key In the ignition and turn it on to accessory i lose all power , only light that comes on is the seat belt light WTF.... then i go to start it and the fans and check engine light comes back on but doesnt even attempt to start or turn the starter ???

any one got any ideas ??

Test the ignition switch.

Looked threw everything but it all looks fine , now a new question when i unhooked my starter everything goes off and returns to normal except when i turn the key forword i dont have an engine light at all and my fan doesnt come on ??

My ecu wasnt grounded properly

well the double loop ground wasn't making proper connection to the thermostat because my wire was broken before loop so there for i dont know how it was powering the ECU to tell my check engine light and fan to run but i fix the wire and ever returned to normal
